Why I chose Maxi Cosi

As soon as we found out we were expecting, our baby shopping list started to grow by the day. One of the most important items on the list was the car seat and as we all know the hospital won’t allow you to take our baby home without one.

I always knew I wanted a Maxi Cosi car seat. I had seen them around and loved the variations in design and that there were many colours to choose from. The most important thing to me, other than the stylish design, was that it fitted on to our Bugaboo pram chassis. I didn’t want to always have to use the carry-cot so it was great that I could just take the car seat out of the car and attach it to the chassis without disturbing the baby. I just had to buy the car seat adaptors to allow this to happen.

We decided to go for the Rock in Sparkling Grey, which is suitable from birth up to approximately twelve months. The Rock is Maxi Cosi’s new i-Size baby car seat offering maximum protection as a result of improved impact-absorbing materials and side impact protection. The seat has a comfortable inlay so a newborn can fit safely in a cosy environment and complies with the latest i-Size (R129) car seat legislation.

We chose the 2wayFix base to provide Isofix installation and a highly convenient click-and-go system. The base can also be used with Maxi-Cosi 2wayPearl, the toddler car seat, which can be used up until the age of four. The Isofix base makes taking the the seat in and out of the car so easy as it simply just clicks in to place and makes a little ping to confirm it is in properly and the light goes green. There is no faffing around with seatbelts which is great. The seat is so secure on the base and doesn’t move even when driving around tight corners.

We are out and about a lot so the seat is used every day whether it’s for car journeys or going out for a walk as she much prefers the carseat than the carrycot so she can take the world in.
